What is microblading?
Microblading is a technique in semi permanent makeup that uses a handheld tool dipped in pigment that is used to make individaul small cuts on the surface of your eyebrows and deposits the pigment. This gives a single hair stroke look. Microblading produces a very natural looking eyebrow that can enhance fullness and definition.
What You can Expect During Your Appointment
To start your appointment we will go over all the forms you signed when you made your appointment. It is very important that if anything has changed since you filled out the forms, your artist is made aware of it. We will answer any questions that you have.
Then we will map your eyebrows. Using inked string and tools we will map out your eyebrows based on your unique facial structure and personal preferences. We will have you take a look at your mapped brows and make any adjustments. We will not start the microblading until you have approved your mapped brows. This is the outline we use for your eyebrows.
At Ink + Brow we do not pre-numb. Please do not come to the studio with numbing gel on your eyebrows. Numbing creams and gels change the texture of your skin and can effect the process and retainment of the pigment. Most people describe the process as uncomfortable but bearable. We DO numb after the initial stroke session is done and before we start the second stroke session. We use a lidocaine based solution to numb our clients. We have found that people tolerate the first stroke session well will discomfort and the numbing between stroke sessions makes them much more comfortable during the second stroke session.
Once we have completed the second stroke session, you will get to see your new brows and we can make small adjustments if needed. We will go over after care instructions, where you can also find them on the Ink + Brow website. We will schedule your 6-8 week touch up at that time. It is important to remember that your brows immediately after appointment will be the darkest they ever will be. As your brows heal they will lighten by 40-60%. At your 6-8 week appointment we can make adjustments as necessary.
Everybody responds and holds onto pigment differently with things like personal biology, skin type, sun exposure, and after care all impact how long your microblading will last. It is typically recommended that it last between 1-3 years.
